This is my family’s favorite version of Texas roadhouse rolls and the honey/ cinnamon butter. There are a lot of different recipes, but this is the one I use. They are really easy to make and will all be gone by the next day.

Ingredients and Directions:

2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
1 1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup honey
3 Tablespoons butter
1 large egg
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups all purpose flour, or bread flour

If you are using the instant yeast, you do not need to proof it, so you can follow my directions in the video.
If you need to proof your yeast, add the yeast to your warm milk and honey and let it sit for five minutes.

To start, warm your milk and melt your butter. Make sure that your milk is only lukewarm.
In a large bowl, or use your stand mixer, mix your milk, honey, yeast, butter, egg, and two cups of your flour until it comes together and is smooth. Add your salt and gradually add your two cups of remaining flour and knead for around eight minutes.

Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead for a few more minutes.

Oil a large bowl and place your dough in it, turning to coat both sides. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for an hour.

After it has risen, punch down the dough and roll it out to an 1/2 inch thick. Cut your dough into the size that you want and place it on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let them rise around 40-45 minutes, or until doubled in size.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until light golden brown. Remove from the oven and brush with
one Tablespoon melted butter.

Honey / Cinnamon Butter
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 Tablespoons honey
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Mix everything together until well blended and keep in the fridge.
